The Specht brand traces its origins to 1910, when Friedrich Specht founded the Specht fruit distillery in Leutenbach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The distillery built its reputation on traditional German fruit spirits and liqueurs made from carefully selected fruit and natural ingredients.
In 1976, Specht began cooperating with the German spirits company August Ernst, and by 1980 August Ernst had acquired the Specht distillery. Today Specht forms part of the August Ernst portfolio, alongside several other established German spirits brands. August Ernst itself has been producing spirits since 1898 and remains a family-owned company with more than a century of experience in German distilling.
